Limavady Borough Community Safety Partnership was established in January 2004, by Limavady Borough Council. The Partnership is currently comprised of one tier - Strategic. This consists of representatives of the statutory agencies working in partnership to make the Limavady Borough a safer place to live. The Community Safety Officer was appointed in July 2004 by Limavady Borough Council, to co-ordinate the work of the Partnership. Limavady Borough Council facilitates the Limavady Borough Community Safety Partnership.
The Partnership completed Phase 1 of its Community Safety Audit in September 2004. This involved desktop research to inform the Partnership of problems that exist in the Borough as a whole, and also in specific areas within the Council District. Stage 2 of the audit, a community consultation, was undertaken in January 2005, to identify issues of concern to those living and working in the Borough. Analysis of the results were completed in February 2005.
The analysis and fusion of Audit Stages 1 and 2 generated the priorities and focus of the resultant Community Safety Strategy, for the Limavady Borough. This identifies the framework in which members will work, over the next three years. The Limavady Community Safety Strategy was completed in March 2005 and will be launched during Community Safety Week, commencing 20th June 2005.
Limavady Borough Community Safety Partnership delivered a highly successful Small Grants Scheme to organizations across the Borough, to enable the delivery of innovative projects that contribute to improved Community Safety. Link to Your Partnership/Council Website
