Ballymoney Townscape Townscape aims to involve young people at risk of offending in a programme of physical improvements within the town of Ballymoney. • Fear of Crime.

Banbridge Lissize Safe Play Area The project aims to increase the safety of an existing play area in Rathfriland by providing, for example, a security fence and gate so that the play area can be locked, particularly during hours of darkness, cutting back hedges and trees and including defensive planting. • Drug, Substance and Alcohol Abuse.

Banbridge Kinallen Rural Watch This project aims to establish a Neighbourhood Watch Scheme providing all households in the area with an information pack, holding an education evening and erecting Neighbourhood Watch Signs. • Fear of Crime.

Banbridge Neighbourhood Watch This project aims to establish a Neighbourhood Watch Scheme by, for example, educating the residents on community safety and crime prevention, supplying residents with property marking pens and provision of door chains. • Domestic Burglary.

Coleraine Skateboard Park The Skatepark facility will offer young people opportunities to take part in up and coming sports, ie, skateboarding, BMXing and in-line skating. • Fear of Crime.

Derry City Centre Rangers The role of the City Centre Ranger includes welcoming visitors, offering information and advice to city centre users, providing a link between local businesses and public agencies with responsibilities for city centre management and be ‘eyes on the street’ on the look for hazards and problems. • Car Crime.

Larne Community Garden and Play Park This play park involves the refurbishment of a dilapidated play area, an abandoned kick about area and a previous bonfire site. The aim of the project is to provide a secure area for young people of all ages within the community. Lisburn Springboard The project aims to tackle the underlying causes of crime and anti-social behaviour, promote social inclusion, improve health and reduce health inequalities amongst Looked After Children, Children from vulnerable families and Children leaving care. • Anti-social Behaviour and Low Level Neighbourhood Disorder.

Lisburn Website This project will provide residents and young people in Lisburn with the opportunity to create and develop a website aimed at disseminating crime prevention information. The site content and design will be managed by two forums which will ultimately work together to create a joint page. Thus incorporating intergenerational and cross-community projects simultaneously. Lisburn Mentoring Achieving Safer Kids (MASK) This project aims to deliver a community-based intervention for vulnerable children. Each child will be matched with a volunteer mentor, taking account of the child’s needs, circumstances and interests, and also any other relevant factors pertaining to the child and the mentor. The MASK Mentoring Co-ordinator will brief the child/family and the mentor about any relevant issues. This will be followed by an introduction meeting and mentoring will then commence. • Youth Offending and Reducing Criminality.

Newtownabbey Ballyclare Radiolink The project aims to reduce levels of business crime which includes shoplifting, fraud and forgery in the area. • Business and Retail Crime.
Newtownabbey Schools Community Safety Awareness This project will run Community Safety Awareness Programmes in secondary schools in the Borough over a three-year period targeted at 15-18 year olds. Deliver 14 Common Purpose Workshops per annum to the seven secondary schools in the Borough.
Common Purpose is an independent education organisation which aims to improve the way and cities work y delivering unique educational programmes for emerging leaders in different age groups, for example, ‘Your Turn’ which is a programme of citizenship studies in schools.

North Down Drug and Alcohol Peer Education This project aims to give young people the knowledge and confidence and skills to assist them in making decisions about influences which impact on their lives. It will build up a bank of qualified peer educators to deliver programmes in local youth organisations and the wider community through requests to the SEELB. The Peer Educators themselves will be given the opportunity for academic advancement, encouraged to learn about rights, responsibilities and active citizenship. • Youth Offending and Reducing Criminality.

North Down Youth Participation Project The project aims to involve young people, aged 14 years +, in creating safer communities and influence the decisions taken by statutory authorities in relation to community safety. It will focus on the NIHE estates of Bloomfield and Whitehill. A forum for young people will be established to articulate the views of young people. • Youth Offending and Reducing Criminality.

North Down Project Linear Park The main aim of the project is to make Linear Park as safe and neutral area for local communities to use. Objectives include undertaking an outreach programme which engages young people and encourages positive use of the area, providing diversionary projects to develop young peoples’ trust of the project and supporting local shop keepers. • Crime Motivated by Prejudice and Hatred.

Omagh Radiolink in Town Centre This project is the introduction of a Radiolink system in Omagh town centre. This system enables details of criminal incidents to be communicated immediately between the retailers in the area. • Business and Retail Crime.
