Strategy Document
As
recommended by the Criminal Justice Review we will publish a consultative
strategy document outlining proposals for the future direction of
community safety in Northern Ireland. This draft strategy will be
available in the near future.
The Draft Community Safety Strategy was officially launched on the
11th April 2002.
Improving community safety involves many agencies:-
Councils, the Housing Executive, Police, Probation, Health Trusts,
the Youth Service as well as voluntary organisations, community
groups and businesses. We encourage and support local community
safety partnerships by providing information, guidance manuals and
training. Given the range of stakeholders involved in community
safety, effective partnerships have been recognised as a central
mechanism for improving safety and reducing risks in communities.
